MY STORY

It was like any other day, i was playing video games,my mother was watching TV and my sister leaving my laptop on. Then it went dark. CONFUSED?

The year is 2058 and rations have been introduced to stop energy emissions
My name is kandice and this is the new age. My world was like any other until the rations forcing the UK to live as if we were in the slums. The UK is the first country to introduce energy emissions and slowly with every bar on this significant card fading the country is plunging into darkness

Planning

To start off my planning I will analyse the way John Wyndham sets the scene, vocabulary how he entices the reader to continue reading using cliffhangers
As the book set in the Cold War were nuclear warfare seemed to be inevitable which is a significant event in modern world historyas nuclear weapons could destroy the face of the world I will set mine in the time of the Afghanistan war where homosexual people are looked down upon like the mutants in this book.

Being in first person it gives a wider view of what is going from the main characters view as we feels his emotions however we know stuff he doesn’t(dramatic irony). Whereas if it in third person we would have more opinions and emotions, personally for me it would be more confusing.

A few ideas to start off my story:
On the cold wispy day that was the memorial of Afghanistan a new problem has emerged homosexual men and women have been found out, the government has set squads to hunt down these mutants however there is a way out for these misfits where homosexual marriage is legal and safe ,FRANCE

The year is 2058 and rations have been introduced to stop energy emissions
My name is kandice and this is the new age. My world was like any until the rations forcing the UK to live as if we were in the slums.

Untold story

I am going to put myself in the shoes of uncle axel for the untold story

my story will be about the fourth time uncle axel leaves waknuk to discover the world

“What is the world like uncle axel”
There are many places still to be found waknuk seems small by most other cities/villages like London if we are going to expand we need to get rid of this deception rubbish I have seen this on a full blown scale we need to move on from this segregation of killing innocent humans is not right.
When I went around the world with my crew to see executed people hanging from ropes.
“But uncle axel wouldn’t the world be a better place with no mutants”

This is the way everyone wants you to think but how can we claim to pure if we are always killing innocent crops, animal and people it is not their fault they have a minor or major problem the problem lies with us.

Analytical essay

I think fate is a mental and psychological thing that people believe in if an event happens and for some reason they was not at the scene of the accident because of a delay or they survived the accident they claim it was down to fate or destiny. However in the day of Romeo, fate was what God had intended for you. Shakespeare seems to give us the idea that fate has a leading role in the play and in some ways it does.fate over casts everything that happens in the play for example if Romeo had his love returned from Rosaline wouldn’t go to the Capulet party to get over her therefore he would not of met Juliet so he would not of died, another is the fact that Friar John would be unable to deliver his message to Romeo, in doing so Romeo would be unable to rescue Juliet from the tomb these are only some examples but there are many more that give us the idea fate has a leading role in the play.Shakespeare used clever metaphors and phrases in the play he here are the ones I think are most powerful in defining the importance of fate.

Romeo and Juliet use lots of phrases that underline their destiny of death at the end of the play, Romeo uses this phrase before he goes into the party of the Capulets where he is seen by Tybalt “Some consequence yet hanging in the stars” when he uses this phrase I think it means the consequence of his actions are in the hands of the stars(God).
The prologue:
Two households, both alike in dignity,
In fair Verona, where we lay our scene,
From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,
Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.
From forth the fatal loins of these two foes
A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life;
Whose misadventures piteous overthrows
Do with their death bury their parents’ strife.
The fearful passage of their death-mark’d love,
And the continuance of their parents’ rage,
Which, but their children’s end, nought could remove,
Is now the two hours’ traffic of our stage;
The which if you with patient ears attend,
What here shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend
also uses fate phrases like a pair of star-crossed lovers take their lives
do with their death bury their parents’ strife.
the fearful passage of their death-mark’d love.
These quotes are all supporting the strong influence of fate of example it says above “a pair of star-crossed lovers take their lives”this is a fate phrase as in the end the take their lives and it seems like it was meant to happen like they were born to kill themselves.
Shakespeare uses metaphors as well as phrases these are as powerful if not more powerful here are a few “but he hath steerage of my course”.this is quite powerful metaphor I think it means Romeo is putting all his trust and faith which he loses in the end of the play in (god) as he wants god to guide him to safety no matter what.

So in conclusion Shakespeare has a knack for giving an important part to fate especially as most of his plays are tragedy.

Metaphor task

From this world-wearied flesh. Eyes, look your last!
Arms, take your last embrace! and, lips, O you
The doors of breath, seal with a righteous kiss
A dateless bargain to engrossing death!
Come, bitter conduct, come, unsavoury guide!
Thou desperate pilot, now at once run on
The dashing rocks thy sea-sick weary bark!
Here’s to my love!

THis whole text is talking about Romeo losing the faith in God that he had during the middle of the play.

This is a metaphor that shows he is losing faith
The doors of breath, seal with a righteous kiss
A dateless bargain to engrossing death!
unsavoury guide refers to God.

I think Shakespeare used this to show that fate was coming through to take Romeo when he is losing all faith in his creator.

Your task is to identify the metaphor present in the following excerpt and then write a paragraph that explains the metaphor and its effect on the meaning of the passage it is embedded in.

ROMEO:

From this world-wearied flesh. Eyes, look your last!
Arms, take your last embrace! and, lips, O you
The doors of breath, seal with a righteous kiss
A dateless bargain to engrossing death!
Come, bitter conduct, come, unsavoury guide!
Thou desperate pilot, now at once run on
